SBUHCA

In the 116th Congress, the State Based Universal Health Care Act (SBUHCA) (H.R. 5010) was introduced by California Representative Ro Khanna. There were 22 cosponsors, including three members from Oregon: Rep. Earl Blumenauer, Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, and Rep. Peter DeFazio. We expect SBUHCA will be introduced in the 117th Congress on June 1.

The bill amends “title I of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to authorize the establishment of, and provide support for, State-based universal health care systems that provide comprehensive health benefits to State residents, and for other purposes.” You can find more information and the full text of the bill here.
